Thank You! The Idiom Magazine in New Jersey

NerveHouse has launched itself with a first issue, funded in part by proceeds from a silent auction of donated art. This mixed media canvas "Bird Brain" was my contribution to the auction (hope it at least brought in more than the cost of mailing it to Wisconsin.) This print literary journal, a quarterly, includes in its first issue my poem "clean house" which is stunning and insightfull and politically and socially challenging. . . GET the journal to read this and other outstanding poetry and prose together in one 3D place. Go here for more info :

When the Mayflower truck
pulled up
She threw up
all the screened-in
sashes and moved in
the smoke and mirrors and
ashes through every
stolen hearth
built in to the balance
under Her
antique valance
hand weaving made Her
blanket welcome
mat at the front of
the house
even before fourscore
swiped thier boot heels
the builders and
framers paced in
on planks milled
much too wide
for a threshold so high
for accounting between
what She could afford
and what She might
after all
be willing to pay for
